The label is known for the irreverence and luxury it conveys in all its creations
Coco Chanel is a legend! The designer, author of the phrase “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous” is an icon of fashion and to this day, a reference to all women who like the fashion market.
Coco was responsible for most of the major changes in women’s clothing and fashion in the twentieth century. Considered one of the forces of the feminist movement of the beginning of the last century, the stylist has created timeless and elegant fashion, sported until today, making its label a synonym of elegance and comfort. CHANEL is always a trend.
The great brand
In 1913, before the First World War, Chanel simultaneously opened two fashion boutiques in Deauville (one of the elegant centers of France at the time) and in Paris. At this time she began to create women’s sportswear, inspired by sailors’ clothes.
Coco said that in the fashion world there was an excess of men who did not know how to provide comfort to women. That is why the style she created revolutionized the twentieth century: by freeing women from tight bands and bodices in frilly skirts, she allowed them to feel free and powerful, dressed simply and practically.
It was the minimalist chic that would be worn by those who were tired of the Belle Epoque customs and overly ornate clothing. The black crepe dress with tight, long sleeves (which became known as “Little Black Dress”) would be another of her great inventions that would become famous.
In the year of her death, on January 10, 1971, at the age of 87, at the luxurious Hotel Ritz in Paris, Coco Chanel was still actively working on designing a new collection. Like the whole story of her life, the moment of death was also marked by glamor and rumors. Alone, in the room of the sophisticated Hotel Ritz, where she lived for approximately 33 years, the stylist would have told a maid who was present: “See? That’s how you die. Alone, but always chic. ”
Since 1983, the German designer Karl Lagerfeld has been the creator of the Chanel brand for both the haute couture and the ready-to-wear lines. The classic style created by mademoiselle, revitalized by Lagerfeld, crossed the 20th century and became timeless.
The autumn/winter of Chanel
Interpreting the season, the collection autumn / winter 2018 set trees on the passerelle and covered the ground with its leaves.
Every six months the Grand Palais is transformed to welcome a new Chanel collection. On the last day of fashion week parades in Paris, the designer was inspired by nature, transforming the building into a forest.
They paraded 80 looks in dark and neutral tones, with some touches of color and also the classic Chanel tweed. The last 12 looks were exclusively black dresses with long gloves of different colors.
