Brunch should have charm and delicious food!
By Carol Contri
It’s time to greet friends for a delicious brunch. To make this moment even more perfect, it is necessary to take some time to choose the decoration and the food that will be served, so that you may create a cozy atmosphere.
Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch eaten usually during the late morning but it can extend to as late as 3 pm. The word is a portmanteau of breakfast and lunch. Pastas, breads, pâtés and finger foods are essential at a brunch.
The first thing to consider is the schedule. Brunch should start usually at 11 o’clock in the morning and end around 3 o’clock. The meal can be held outdoors, on a balcony for example, or simply in your own dining room.
The table must be colorful. You can set two tables, one for food and the other for drinks which should include teas, juices and coffee. Homemade breads arranged in charming baskets or trays, pastas and pâtés are a few of the practical items that everyone likes. Quiches, caprese salads, pancakes and waffles, fresh fruits should be cut in an elegant way complement the decor.
Serve refreshing drinks, such as juices and flavored waters. For those who want to serve options with alcohol, white and sparkling wines and mimosas are great ideas.
Create an environment that is both relaxing and inviting. Make use of fresh and seasonal flowers, colorful napkins, cute plates and tags identifying the dishes being served.
